Each wood-fired piece here was fired in Litchfield County, CT or in the Hilltowns of Western Mass. Wood firing is a 7-14 day process of hand feeding the kiln to a temperature of about 2,300-2,500 degrees depending on the kiln and the artists' preferences. About 2-7 days stoking the kiln 24 hours a day and the remaining 2-5 days to cool for unloading. This is a process that can only be done with a good team of passionate and dedicated ceramicists.
